he Journal of Dental Sciences (JDS), published quarterly, is the official and open access publication of the Association for Dental Sciences of the Republic of China (ADS-ROC). The precedent journal of the JDS is the Chinese Dental Journal (CDJ) which had already been covered by MEDLINE in 1988. As the CDJ continued to prove its importance in the region, the ADS-ROC decided to move to the international community by publishing an English journal. Hence, the birth of the JDS in 2006. The JDS is indexed in the SCI Expanded since 2008. It is also indexed in Scopus, and EMCare, ScienceDirect, SIIC Data Bases.

The topics covered by the JDS include all fields of basic and clinical dentistry. Some manuscripts focusing on the study of certain endemic diseases such as dental caries and periodontal diseases in particular regions of any country as well as oral pre-cancers, oral cancers, and oral submucous fibrosis related to betel nut chewing habit are also considered for publication. Besides, the JDS also publishes articles about the efficacy of a new treatment modality on oral verrucous hyperplasia or early oral squamous cell carcinoma.

《牙科学杂志》（JDS）每季出版，是中华民国牙科学协会（ADS-ROC）的官方开放获取出版物。 JDS 的前身期刊是中国牙科杂志 (CDJ)，该杂志已于 1988 年被 MEDLINE 收录。随着 CDJ 继续证明其在该地区的重要性，ADS-ROC 决定通过出版一份面向国际社会的英文杂志。于是，2006 年 JDS 诞生了。JDS 自 2008 年起被 SCI Expanded 收录，同时被 Scopus、EMCare、ScienceDirect、SIIC 数据库收录。

JDS 涵盖的主题包括基础和临床牙科的所有领域。一些专注于研究某些地方病的手稿，如任何国家特定地区的龋齿和牙周病，以及与咀嚼槟榔习惯相关的口腔癌前病变、口腔癌和口腔黏膜下纤维化，也将被考虑出版。此外，JDS还发表了关于一种新的治疗方式对口腔疣状增生或早期口腔鳞状细胞癌疗效的文章。
