BJS Open is a fully open access peer-reviewed journal published online.BJS Open publishes original articles, reviews, meta-analyses,systematic reviews and randomized clinical trials, all of which are submitted to rigorous peer review,either when submitted to BJS Open directly or through the parent journal,BJS.Articles considered suitable for BJS Open are transferred after agreement with the authors.

BJS Open subscribes to the policies published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and adheres to publishing ethics guidelines published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
